Paul Durning, Jr



Paul Francis Durning, a long time Alexandria Harmonizer (1984-2006), and native of Paterson, NJ, passed away on July 20, 2017 at age 86 in St. Augustine, FL. Paul lived in Woodbridge, VA before moving to Florida in 2000. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and worked as a Public Service Assistant for St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office for 10 years.

Paul is survived by his wife, Jo Durning; sons David, Michael and Timothy Durning; daughter Kelly Garrett; stepson, Hall Smith III; stepdaughters Angel Yanagihara and Catherine Burke; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Those wishing may make a donation in his memory to St. Jude Hospital Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Paul sang Tenor with the Alexandria Harmonizers International Gold Medal Choruses of 1986, 1989, and 1995 and was active in several quartets.
