Patrick Stapleton



Patrick Stapleton started singing barbershop with the Pomona Valley Carousel Chorus in Pomona, CA in the late 1970's. Stapleton also sang with the Heart of Maryland Chorus in Baltimore MD, and is a current member of the Honesdale, PA and Richmond, VA chapters, serving the latter as VP Chapter Development. Retired now after a short railroad career with Buckingham Branch RR in central Virginia, and nearly 35 years in plastics manufacturing, with Owens-Illinois, Beatrice Foods, Crown Cork & Seal, and GRAFCO Industries. Stapleton's manufacturing career spanned positions in quality assurance, scheduling, warehouse operations, production management, plant management, and the last 14 years as VP, Human Resources for a plastic container manufacturer headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland. Stapleton received his undergraduate degree in History from the University of Southern California in 1973, where he rowed Men's Crew for four years, stroke for the Frosh Eight, and in the varsity eight the next three years. He also received a Master's degree in 1993 from Georgia State University in Personnel and Employment Relations. His experience includes compensation and benefits, performance management, union avoidance, organizational development, team building, coaching, labor relations, mergers and acquisitions, process improvement, change management, and negotiation. Additionally, he taught for seven years, with the University of Phoenix's online MBA program, HRM531 - Human Capital Management, and HRM534 - Safety Management. While no longer singing with a chapter in the Mid-Atlantic District, he has elected to stay closer to home in Fredericksburg, VA, singing with both the Heritage Singers, as well as the Spotsylvanians, a community SATB chorus sponsored by Spotsylvania Parks and Recreation.
