Notes for Contestants |

|
1. Please note that ALL competitors must be in possession of an all-events convention registration in order to be eligible to compete. This applies to each quartet member and each chorus member. We will be checking convention registrations so please have your registration on your person when you enter the backstage area. Registrations can be purchased on-line.
2. Quartets please note that due to the large number of quartets and the early-afternoon start time we will not be able to offer pre-contest stage time for this contest. 3. QUARTET EVALUATION NOTE: If your quartet signed up for an evaluation session with the judges on Friday night after the contest (2 of you signed up for evals on Saturday afternoon following the chorus evals), please recall that you agreed to pay a refundable $20 deposit to reserve your spot in the evaluation matrix. Evaluation reservations were to have been made with Gary Plaag by 9PM on Monday, May 6, 2013. If you didn’t sign-up for an evaluation by then, it was assumed that you didn’t want to reserve an evaluation spot. Please pay your $20 deposit PRIOR TO your stage time and preferably, PRIOR to the beginning of the contest on Friday evening. You may pay your deposit at the Will-Call window when you pick up your tickets, or directly to Gary Plaag when you see him backstage. No-show deposits go to the MAD YIH program. 4. Although initially planned for a 9-riser configuration, since the largest competing chorus is approximately 60-65 singers, risers for the chorus contest and Jamboree will be set in the 7-riser configuration in order to bring the chorus closer to the audience. 5. Unfortunately, due to the large number of chorus competitors and the earlier start on Saturday morning, pre-contest stage tests for choruses are not available this year. 6. There is no deposit required for chorus evaluations (coaching sessions), however, if your chorus is not planning to attend the chorus evaluations (between 2:45 and 5PM on Saturday afternoon), please let C&J VP Gary Plaag know that by May 15, so your chorus will not be scheduled into the evaluation matrix. Chorus evaluations/coaching sessions will be 45-minutes for each chorus (15-minute sessions with each of 3 judges (MUS, PRS, SNG)). Because these are coaching sessions, be sure your chorus members know to stay for the evaluation/coaching session. Coaching sessions without a full or significant representation of your chorus, will be less effective. 7. Videos and CDs can be purchased via the MAD Website. CDs can be picked up following your session at the sound booth; Videos will be posted on the M-AD Website. 8. As was announced recently by Executive VP Ig Jakovac via email, there will be no photo room at this event. Photos will be taken from the stage during the performance. Choruses/Quartets desiring a posed photo at the end should communicate their desire to have a posed photo to the Stage Manager prior to going on stage. The Stage Manager will communicate that information to the photographer during your performance. 9. Per the 2013 M-AD Division Regulations for or a multi-division convention the top two (2) choruses from each division, the top two (2) quartets from each division and and all chorus plateau champions (A, AA, AAA and AAAA) from each division will be invited to perform at least one song each on the Saturday night Jamboree. Any collegiate qualifiers for Toronto will also be invited to perform. Performance order for the Jamboree will be posted on the video screen just outside the performance venue, approximately 1 hour after the chorus results are announced on Saturday afternoon. The Jamboree will start at 7:30PM. |
