Notes for Contestants |
---|
1. Please note that ALL competitors must be in possession of an all-events convention registration in order to be eligible to compete. This applies to each quartet member and each chorus member. We will be checking competitor wristbands so please have your wristband on your wrist when you enter the backstage area. If your costuming renders a wrist band unsightly (for example, you are doing a Polynesian set with bare chests and arms) please contact Gary Plaag in order to arrange for removal of the wristbands before going on stage and the reapplication of wrist bands when you come off stage after your performance. Registrations can be purchased on-line. 2. Quartets please note that pre-contest stage time for you will be Friday afternoon 1:30-3:00 PM at 3 minutes each. See DVP C&J Gary Plaag in the stage area. Stage tests will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Once it appears that there are no more quartets interested in testing the stage, the pre-contest stage time will end. 3. If you indicate on your contest entry form that you want Normal Evaluation and Coaching then your quartet will be scheduled for an evaluation session following the Friday and/or Saturday night contest sessions (non-finalist evals will be on Friday night and finalist evals will be on Saturday night after the Show of Champions). Please note that if you do not show up for your evaluations session you owe the MAD Youth In Harmony program $20. If you don't want to be scheduled for an evaluation session with the judges please indicate None in the Type of Evaluation section of your contest entry form. 4. THERE WILL BE NO CHORUS TEST THE STAGE TIME on Saturday morning, prior to the official start of the chorus contest. Choruses desiring to put up risers in their assigned warm-up room should make such arrangements through VP Events, Walter Griffith. 5. There is no deposit required for chorus evaluations (coaching sessions); however, if your chorus is NOT planning to attend the chorus evaluations, please let VP C&J Gary Plaag know that prior to the contest so that we don't schedule your chorus for one. 6. Videos and CDs can be purchased via the MAD website. CDs can be picked up following your session at the sound booth; Videos will be posted on the MAD website. |
