Chapters seeking Front-Line Directors:
- Harmony Express
Harmony Express, the Germantown, Maryland Chapter of BHS, is a small but lively chorus of 20 total members, 12-15 of whom regularly attend rehearsals and performances. The chorus meets weekly on Sunday evenings in a convenient Gaithersburg location just blocks from I-270.
Our current Director would like to step back into a singing role, so we are seeking a new Director. The ideal candidate would direct all rehearsals and performances; however, we would consider a rotating schedule, where the Director alternates with our two Assistant Directors for rehearsals, but the Director assumes overall responsibility for chorus progress.
Our chorus performs about once a month in and around Montgomery County at a variety of venues such as at the annual County Fair, local fairs, and senior centers, as well as through our “Singing Valentines” and “Youth in Harmony” programs for local high school students.
We also participate in Barbershop Harmony events and competitions. We are hopeful our new Director will continue our traditions of “fun through excellence” as well as bringing the joy of singing to our community. Salary is dependent on experience and a full vs. part-time position offered.
Please submit your resume and contact information to our President, Rob Dowling, at robdsings@outlook.com, if you are interested!
